GPS
donates more than $100,000 per year to a number of charities, non profit
organizations, and scholarship programs. For more information, email philanthropy@gps-hq.com.
We are men and women of action. As an advocate of community involvement
and volunteerism, GPS allows, dare we say encourages, its employees to
take up to two months off for volunteer work. We believe this strengthens
the community, as well as the hearts and minds of our employees. As such,
GPS is actively involved in a variety of community, education, health
and philanthropic organizations that include:
Project Harvest: a Washington, D.C. charity that provides Thanksgiving food to those in need.
Toys for Tots: a Marine Corps directed charity providing annual toy collection and distribution for underprivileged children.
Youth Development:
Committed to improving the future of our youth, GPS supports the U.S.
Navy's Historical Black Colleges and Universities internship program and
the Northern Virginia Urban League's
Scholarship Program. GPS also supports the Boy and Girl Scouts of
America. Through work-study programs at two local high schools, GPS
offers youths an opportunity to develop a professional foundation with
career training.
American Diabetes Association
GPS supports the fundraising efforts of both the Juvenile Diabetes and the American Diabetes Association. The ADA is the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy.
Business Development and Outreach
As a successful business, GPS seeks to perpetuate the development of other businesses by participating in the Virginia Regional Minority Supplier Development Council. Additionally, 25% of GPS' revenue is spent with woman and minority owned businesses. GPS is also a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
