Inclement Weather Policy

Date: February 24, 2005

Severe Weather Conditions

In the event of severe weather conditions, employees are expected to use their best judgment or report to work during regularly scheduled workdays and observe their normal hours consistent with local conditions. Employees not reporting to work will be charged vacation time for their period of absence.

Late Arrival

For early morning storms when road conditions are hazardous due to snow and ice, late arrival is understood and accepted. GPS will follow “late arrival” announcements for Federal Governments employees when these conditions exist, and employees are expected to report to work when road conditions permit.

Early Departure

If early departure is warranted, the Company will announce the decision to all employees. If no early departure decision has been made and an employee feels compelled to depart early, he/she must clear their departure with their immediate supervisor. Depending upon the situation, time absent may be charged as vacation leave.

Cancellation of the Workday

When the Federal Government cancels the workday for Federal employees, GPS’ on-site personnel may also take leave with/without pay for lost time. GPS’ Headquarters will remain open as long as the weather permits and it is safe to operate. Employees will be given the option to take leave with/without pay during severe weather conditions. In the event that GPS’ Headquarters has to shut down employees will be charged leave.
