Visual
Information Specialist (Graphics)
Reports to : Program/Project Manager
Supervises: NA
Location: Washington DC
Education required:
- BA in Fine Arts/Graphic Design/Visual Information or Associate Arts
degree is highly desired.
- Must have knowledge in map reading and basic geography.
- Must be able to operate a computer keyboard with typing skills at
a minimum of 35 words per minute.
Responsibilities:
- The visual information specialist may be required to perform duty
at other operating locations.
- The visual information specialist provides graphics and multimedia
support to Electronic Publishing and Web Operations as required.
- The specialist must keep current with presentation technology via
independent study/research and Agency sponsored training, as well as
training new and lower grade personnel in production procedures.
- The visual information specialist primarily produces visual presentation
products for Intelligence briefings to the President, SECDEF, CJCS,
Directors, and other high-level government officials.
- Must operate computer graphics equipment to create presentations,
digital and video images, web designs, briefing boards, and other visual
media products.
- The visual information specialist must have an advanced proficiency
in various software applications to include but not limited to: PowerPoint
HTML, Photoshop, Freehand, Image reformatting/compression, Flash, Premier,
AfterEffects, etc.
- Must originate and implement logical solutions to design problems
to provide the most effective products, as well as serve as team leader
for shift and special projects as required.
Experience, Skills and Background required:
- The specialist must demonstrate artistic and technical ability to
create visually effective designs for graphics and multimedia products
within established deadlines.
- Must have experience that has led to efficiency utilizing presentation
graphic systems, software, and peripherals.
- Must have experience working as a member of a team, assuming fair
share of responsibility, and sharing expertise among team members.
- Must have experience communicating and articulating a wide variety
of graphics and multimedia production issues to all levels of the workforce.
Special Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check.
- Applicants are required to submit a brief supplementary narrative
statement (SNS), separately addressing each factor, outlining the experience,
education, and accomplishments which have provided them with the skills
and knowledge required in each of the position related areas listed
under Experience, Skills, and Background required.
